The RIA under the Lemoine Borrower Law therefore brings an end to the previous provisions established by the Hamon Law and the Bourquin amendment on this matter.
Awaited by many brokerage and insurance stakeholders, the anytime cancellation, known as “Intra-year Cancellation” (RIA), is now effective! The last major component of the Lemoine Law to be applied, this allows borrowers, since September 1st, to request a cancellation of their current mortgage insurance and to turn to alternative borrower insurance solutions that are less expensive and offer more comprehensive coverage… and this without any anniversary date constraint.
